What 5G band did Jio buy?

Jio is the highest bidder among all operators participating in the 5G frequency auction in India.  Jio spent a total of $88,078 million on the show.  Jio also has the widest offender area.  For 5G bands, Jio has purchased 5G bands on all popular frequencies.

  Jio supports low-band frequencies such as 700 MHz (n28) and 800 MHz (n5), mid-band frequencies such as 1800 MHz (n3) and 3300 MHz (n78), and high-band frequencies (mmWave) 26 GHz ( #258).

Jio explained that it will provide 5G connectivity nationwide.  Jio will do so using the cost-effective sub-700 MHz frequency band.  Jio also plans to offer the premium 26GHz mmWave band to 22 circuits in India.

In which cities will Jio 5G launch first?

Jio plans to roll out 5G in India on Diwali 2022. Implementation starts first in major cities.  Jio was later expanded to hundreds of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and according to recent reports, Jio will initially launch 5G services in four cities.

These are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.  Other major cities including Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Lucknow and Pune can witness 5G in phase two.  It’s worth noting that Jio can build 5G networks in certain areas of these cities.  Therefore, not all residents of these cities will benefit from 5G services.

What makes 5G better than 4G?

There are several reasons why 5G is better than 4G.

    • 5G is much faster than 4G.

    • 5G has more potential than 4G.

    • 5G has much lower latency than 4G.

    • 5G is an integrated platform that supports 4G and above.

    • 5G uses a better spectrum than 4G.

5G is an integrated platform capable of more than 4G.

While 4G LTE is focused on delivering faster mobile broadband services than 3G, 5G is designed to be a more capable integrated platform that not only enhances the mobile broadband experience but also enhances critical communications and supports new services such as Vishal IoT. 5G essentially covers all types of the spectrum (licensed, shared, unlicensed) and bands (low, medium, high), different deployment models (from traditional macro cells to hotspots) and new ways to connect with each other (e.g. devices). do. -to-device and multi-hop mesh).

  •     5G uses a better spectrum than 4G.

5G is designed to maximize every bit of the spectrum in different patterns and bands of the available spectrum settings, from sub-1 GHz to mid-band 1 GHz to 6 GHz, from millimetre-wave to high-band in a group known as millimetre-wave to high-band. designed. (mm-wave).

  •     5G is faster than 4G.

5G is significantly faster than 4G, offering peak data rates of up to 20 Gbps (gigabits per second) and average data rates of over 100 Mbps.

  •     5G capabilities than 4G.

5G is designed to support a 100x increase in traffic capacity and network efficiency.1

  •     5G has lower latency than 4G.

The latency of 5G is low enough to provide more direct real-time access. 10x reduction in end-to-end latency to 1ms1

How fast is 5G?

5G is designed to provide peak data rates of up to 20 Gbps per IMT-2020 requirements. Qualcomm Technologies’ flagship 5G solution, Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X65, is designed to achieve up to 10 Gbps at full downlink data rates.

But 5G is more than just speed. In addition to higher peak data rates, 5G is designed to expand to a new spectra such as mmWave, which provides much higher network capacity.

5G can also provide significantly lower latency for faster response, and provide a more uniform user experience overall, enabling data rates to remain consistently high as users move. And the new 5G NR cellular network is backed by a gigabit LTE coverage foundation that can provide gigabit-class connectivity everywhere.

How does 5G work?

Like 4G LTE, 5G is based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and operates on the same cellular network principles. However, the new 5G New Radio (NR) air interface further enhances OFDM to provide a much higher level of flexibility and scalability.

5G will not only provide faster and better mobile broadband services compared to 4G LTE but will also expand into new service areas such as mission-critical communications and large-scale IoT connectivity. This is made possible by many new 5G NR air interface design technologies, such as the new standalone TDD subframe design.

Do I need a new phone to use 5G?

Yes, you need to buy a new smartphone with 5G support to use the network. For example, smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 5G mobile platform are 5G compatible.

There are several new phones designed to support 5G, and 5G wireless networks are supported by several carriers around the world. As the 5G rollout schedule progresses, more smartphones and carrier subscriptions will be possible as 5G technology and 5 G-compatible devices become mainstream.

Do I need a new SIM card to use Jio 5G?

No, you don’t need a new SIM card.  You can use 5g on your existing 4g Sim.
